The Price of Citizenship

At the time of formation of Persekutuan Tanah Melayu in 1948, the Malays under the leadership of Raja Melayu and UMNO, had every right to oppose the idea of granting citizenship to the then IMMIGRANTS, mainly of China and India origins.

However, with British persuasion then, the Malay kings and UMNO were obliged to agree, BUT they gave the CERTAIN CONDITIONS, including the provision of terms like SPECIAL POSITION OF MALAYS in the Federal Constitution.

Malaysian citizens, whose forefathers were IMMIGRANTS from China and India respectively, should know how to behave themselves, including whatever that have been enshrined in the Federal Constitution. If you do not respect your part of the deal, Malays have every right to question your rights to CITIZENSHIP by birth.

That’s why, courses like the ones conducted by BTN is NECESSARY to give Malaysians COMMON UNDERSTANDING about our country MALAYSIA.
