Malaysia’s Strategic Partner USA

USA used to fight alongside Great Britain and other western European countries in WW1 and WW2 and victorious.

In WW2, involvement of USA was decisive in securing victory for Great Britain in Europe, and indirectly helped Great Britain defeat the Japanese in Tanah Melayu or Malaya…and overcome the evil design of Parti Komunis Malaya(in 1940s a branch of Communist Party of China) to grab power in Tanah Melayu.

USA used to fight alongside South Korea and South Vietnam against the spread of communism in Asia. Otherwise,  other countries in Southeast Asia, including Persekutuan Tanah Melayu, could succumb to communist expansionism.

Over 50 years on, China has become the second largest economy in the world, after the USA. With new found economic strength, China has begun to flex its military muscles against its smaller neighbours in the South China Sea.

Despite economic benefits of new economic giant China,  the greatest potential threat to Malaysia’s security, since the Emergency Years(jungle war against the Chinese-centred Parti Komunis Malaya) is the expansionism policy of China in the South China Sea.

China has been ‘bullying’ its smaller neighbours, including Malaysia, in the South China Sea dispute.

Fortunately for countries like Malaysia, Philipines and Vietnam, there is a BIG BROTHER, the USA, who are closely watching the arrogant and provocative China.

Without the watchful eyes of the USA, nothing would have stopped China from turning the whole South China Sea into a new land mass as big as mainland China into CHINA 2.

Malaysia should know how to identify potential enemies, and never let go the enbrace of traditional trusted allies.

Congratulation to DS Najib for the historic trip to meet USA President Trump.
