Why Should Malayan Communist Party(MCP) Fight For Independence of A Country Not Their Own

July 29, 2013

During the Japanese occupation of Malaya in 1942-1945, there was an armed resistance force called the Malayan People Anti-Japanese Army(MPAJA), then the PUBLIC FRONT of  the Malayan Communist Party(MCP) led by Chin Peng.

MCP was then a BRANCH of the Communist Party of China(CPC). At their full strength, MCP were known to have 12 regiments, out of which only one regiment(10th Regiment) were made up of Malay fighters. The other regiments were made of IMMIGRANT Chinese, who were citizens of People’s Republic of China.

Years before the Japanese invasion of Malaya, Japan and China were engaged in years of war over China’s northen territory of Manchuria.  The IMMIGRANT Chinese in Malaya were then busy collecting WAR FUNDS to be sent back to MOTHERLAND China. Chin Peng, during his school days was actively involved in such fund-raising activities. When the Japanese started their assault on Malaya, the Chinese IMMIGRANTS organised themselves into armed resistance groups, in anticipation of Japanese atrocities against the IMMIGRANT Chinese in Malaya.

Immediately after the FALL OF MALAYA, the British started to prepare the grounds to re-occupy Malaya, including engaging all anti-Japanese elements in Malaya. A popular Malay-based resistance force was the FORCE 136, which were ’decorated’ by figures like the late Tun Abdul Razak and late Tun Gahazali Shafie. The British, who were generally anti-communist, initially were not keen to engage the MPAJA, led by Chin Peng’s MCP. However, war-time considerations compelled the British to include  the MPAJA as part of the anti-Japanese forces.

The MPAJA and MCP grapped the opportunity to align themselves to the British, for CASH and WEAPONS. MPAJA were known to have provided the British with certain LOGISTICAL SUPPORT, but there were no instances of them involved in actual COMBAT against the Japanese, unlike Lefternan Adnan’s Malay regiment HEROIC defense of Pasir Panjang in Simgapore.  Even Chin Peng’s own four inches thick MEMOIR did not record any incidence of COMBAT involving the MPAJA and the Japanese forces. However, he recorded the MPAJA personnels collecting weapons abandoned by the retreating British, and ‘hijacking’ weapons air-dropped by the returning British.

Why should the CHINA’s CITIZENS making up the MCP and the MPAJA fight for Malaya, when they were not even citizens of Malaya then? THE FACT is, they regarded their fight against the Japanese as the extension of the on-going war between Japan and  China. In simple term, MPAJA and MCP only ‘fought’ for their MOTHERLAND, the People’s Republic of China.

31st August 1957 – Independence Day of Persekutuan Tanah Melayu

August 31, 2012

Within minutes, ten of thousands of Malaysians would be crowding around clock towers in city squares all over the country to share the excitement of the countdown towards mid-night, when another celebrated date starts unfolding, 31st August 2012, the 55th Anniversary of our country’s independence. 31st August is our country’s INDEPENDENCE DAY, sometimes referred to as NATIONAL DAY.

However, as events surrounding our counrty’s independence move further and further into distant past, more people are becoming unaware of the fact that our 31st August 1957 was the date when the Union Jack was lowered down to be replaced by the red-and-white stripes of the flag of PERSEKUTUAN TANAH MELAYU(in English, MALAYA). The ritual was  to mark the independence of Persekutuan Tanah Melayu from the British rule. On that memorable day, the then Chief Minister of Persekutuan Tanah Melayu, the late Tunku Abdul Rahman, led the shouts of MERDEKA, MERDEKA, MERDEKA!!!!(meaning, INDEPENDENT, INDEPENDENT, INDEPENDENT!!!) echoed by tens of thousands cheery Malayans who filled up the newly-built Stadium Merdeka to the brim, in the presence of the Excellencies the Raja-Raja Melayu.

The landmark event took place 9 years after the establishment of Persekutuan Tanah Melayu, a Federation of 9 Malay states of Perlis, Kedah, Perak, Selangor, Negri Sembilan, Johor, Pahang, Trengganu and Kelantan, and the 2 Straits Settlement states of Penang and Malacca. Penang was originally part of Kedah, but was usurped from the Malay Sultan of Kedah by virtue of an Agreement with the British, which the British never fulfilled. Malacca was the THRONE of the last of Malay Empires before  the coming of the Europeans to the east, and its eventual conquests by the Portuguese, the Dutch and the British.

Before the coming of the Europeans in the 15th century, Malay Empires had been the recognized rulers of this region of the world which the Europeans described as the MALAY ARCHIPELAGO, from times immemorable, with the ‘epicentres’ of power shifting from one place to another, including Langkasuka in 2nd-5th AD, Srivijaya 5th-12th AD, Majapahit 12th-13th and Malacca 14th-15th AD .

Persekutuan Tanah Melayu was established in 1948, to replace the Malayan Union introduced by the British in 1946. Malayan Union would have diminished the power of the Raja-Raja Melayu, would have opened the flood-gate of citizenship to millions of IMMIGRANTS brought in by the British to work in tin mines and rubber estates, and would have stripped the Malays, the original rulers and subjects of the Malay States, of any special rights they deserved.

In such critical moments in the history of Malay civilisation, the Malays became energized and UNITED to protect and uphold their rights. They gathered in thousands in major towns to vent their anger and displeasure. On 11the May 1946, in the palace of the Sultan of Johore, they officially set up their ‘vehicle’ to pursue their struggle, the UNITED MALAYS NATIONAL ORGANISATION, or UMNO. It was UMNO, the Raja-Raja Melayu and the British who brokered the eventual establishment of Persekutuan Tanah Melayu, as a TRANSITION GOVERNMENT before being conferred full independence in August 1957.

Despite the armed insurgency by the Malayan Communist Party(PKM), the newly- independent Persekutuan Tanah Melayu  threaded their way forward with great success. The multi-racial Malayans worked harmoniously together hand-in-hand to build the nation, guided by the forward-looking leadership of the ruling Alliance Party made up of United Malays National Organisation(UMNO), the  Malayan Chinese Association(MCA) and the Malayan Indian Congress(MIC). The success inspired the British to bring her other colonies of Singapore, Sabah and Sarawak into the Federation. The three colonies were eventually merged with the Malay states of Persekutuan Tanah Melayu to form what is now known as MALAYSIA, with 16th September 1963 marked as the official date of formation.

Despite the 16th September date of formation of Malaysia, 31st August remains the official date of our INDEPENDENCE DAY or NATIONAL DAY of the country. The fact remains that 31st August 1957 was the date of  the independence of PERSEKUTUAN TANAH MELAYU, not that of MALAYSIA.

To all Malaysians world over, Selamat Menyambut Hari Kemerdekaan Ke 55.

UMNO’s Glorious 66th Birthday

May 12, 2012

United Malays National Organisation(UMNO) was formed by 43 Malay NGOs 66 years ago, as a ‘vehicle’  for the Malays to oppose the MALAYAN UNION, which would have robbed them of their TRADITIONAL RIGHTS as the original inhabitants and rulers of Tanah Melayu. The MALAYAN UNION was imposed by the then British Administration shortly after the Bristish re-occupied Tanah Melayu following the Japanese surrender. Bitter opposition by the Malays, united under UMNO, forced the British to rescind the Malayan Union, to be  replaced by PERSEKUTUAN TANAH MELAYU, in English the Federation of Malaya in 1948.

Under the Federation of Malaya Agreement agreed upon between the British and UMNO/Raja-Raja Melayu, Persekutuan Tanah Melayu was established as a TRANSITIONAL GOVERNMENT on the road to full independence from the British administration.  Along the road, UMNO formed the Alliance Party with the Malayan Chinese Association(MCA), which at later stage accepted the Malayan Indian Congress(MIC) as its third partner. Persekutuan Tanah Melayu gained the full independence from the British in 1957.

The success of UMNO-led Alliance Party in administering the independent Persekutuan Tanah Melayu, despite the EMERGENCY YEARS(1948-1960) due to armed insurgency by the Malayan Communist Party(MCP),  had led to the formation of Malaysia, by a process of merger of eleven states in Persekutuan Tanah Melayu with British colonies of Singapore , Sabah and Sarawak in 1963. However, Singapore was expelled from Malaysia two years later.

After the emergency, Malaya, and later Malaysia, enjoyed decades of peace, stability and ever increasing prosperity, except for a brief period following the May 1969 General Election, when the opposition parties-led led ‘victory parade’ along the main streets of Kuala Lumpur was misused to shout out and display abusive, deregotary and provocative slogans against the Malays. On 13th May, on the day UMNO also held their own ‘victory parade’, the highly-charged racial sentiments went out of control, and ‘hell broke loose’ into the so-called ’13th May Tragedy’.  State of Emergency’ was declared and Parliment suspended. The country was then put under the National Action Council, the MAGERAN.

MAGERAN ruled the country until the General Election was called in 1974. The period between the 13th May Tragedy and the 1974 GE, was for the country’s leaders to reflect upon the socio-economic-political enveloping the country, which led to the worst racial riots the country had ever seen. Those ‘brain-stormings’ and ‘reflections’ resulted into the introduction of a policy which was believe would help maintain the peace and stability of the country in the long-term. The policy was called ‘New Economic Policy'(NEP) with two-pronged objectives of ERADICATING POVERTY and RESTRUCTURING THE SOCIETY.

Whilst the policy of ERADICATING POVERTY would be applied across the races, RESTRUCTURING THE SOCIETY was meant to break the then ongoing identification of races with certain economic field of activity. Children of Malay farmers should not only be confined to farming, and the children of Indian rubber estate workers should not necessarily grow up to be rubber tappers. Besides that, the policy also targeted the increase of Malays/bumiputra equity in the ‘National Wealth’ from 2.5% in 1970, to at least 30% 20 years later, in 1990.

Besides being the ‘master-mind’ behind the NEP which has proven to be one of the most effective instruments in the  SOCIAL AND ECONOMIC TRANSFORMATION of the Malays/bumiputras, UMNO and its partners in the Alliance Party also initiated the formation of a bigger coalition of political parties, the BARISAN NASIONAL(BN).  Founder members of BN included UMNO, MCA, MIC, Gerakan, PAS, PPP, and all major political parties in Sabah and Sarawak. The formation of the coalition was meant to reduce ‘politickings’ among the parties, which would allow more time for leaders of the parties to focus on socio-economic development of the society, including the implementation of the NEP. The only notable opposition party which did not join the coalition was the DAP.

Since then, UMNO had undergone various tests and tribulations ‘visiting’ the party and the country. We can only be full of praise and admiration in the wisdom in successive UMNO leaders in managing all those tests and tribulations. So much so, UMNO through the Alliance Party, and later the BN, have won all General Elections in the country, from the first in 1954 to the 12th in 2008. Now, UMNO is under the Presidency of DS Mohd Najib Tun Abdul Razak, the 6th Prime Minister of Malaysia. Under his premiership, Malaysia has reached NEW HEIGHTS internationally. Malaysia is now one of the TOP 20 BIGGEST TRADING NATIONS in the world, and the Petronas Twin-Towers, the most imposing structures punctuating the skyline of Kuala Lumpur, the Malaysian capital city, used to be the tallest building in the world in for nearly a decade from the mid-1990s…and still the TALLEST TWIN TOWERS IN THE WORLD until today.

Congratulation to United Malays National Organisation(UMNO), for their role in SHAPING THE HISTORY of  Persekutuan Tanah Melayu and Malaysia, PROTECTING THE RIGHTS OF MALAYS/BUMIPUTRAS AND ALL MALAYSIANS and ENSURING PEACE, STABILITY AND PROSPERITY for all Malaysians to enjoy, live on and inherit to their  future generations.

Again, congratulation to UMNO on their GLORIOUS BIRTHDAY.

Pro-Communist Mat Sabu GREAT LIABILITY For PAS

August 28, 2011

The whole country was in disbelief when a NOVICE like Mat Sabu was elected Deputy President of PAS in a three-cornered fight for the post in the recent PAS party election. Even PAS President, Hj Hadi, indirectly BELITTLED Mat Sabu by proclaming PAS newly elected Central Committee as his ‘Election Cabinet’. Hj Hadi never call his previous Central Committee as ‘Election Cabinet’.

Hj. Hadi may be correct in calling his Central Committee, with Mat Sabu as Deputy President, as ‘Election Cabinet’. Hj. Hadi has long regarded ELECTIONS as WARS IN TIME OF PEACE. Hj. Hadi even regards political and religious debates as IDEOLOGICAL WAR. And to Hj. Hadi, whatever FORBIDDEEN in times of peace, are PERMITTED during the times of wars, including DECEITS.

Hj. Hadi is fully aware how the election of Mat Sabu as his deputy have LOWERED the prestige of PAS Central Committee.  However, he is equally aware that his NOVICE deputy is quite an EXPERT IN STREET DEMONSTRATION, besides his ‘jual ubat’ CERAMAH POLITIK which can pull certain section of PAS followers.

Apart from being arrested on a bike while making his way to Bersih 2 rally recently, Mat Sabu has not really stamped his mark as a new Deputy President of PAS. He knew his limitations, as a drop-out from ITM. Yet, he has to make certain statements, to attract the attention of the rakyat that Mat Sabu is a worthy Deputy President of PAS.

Two days ago, Mat Sabu SHOCKED the country, including PAS leaders, members and supporters, by proclaiming that the 200 or so COMMUNIST TERRORISTS who attacked and burnt a police station, with all lives within, in Bukit Kepong, Johore, in 1950, during the early EMERGENCY YEARS as ‘national heroes’. His proclamation is not only STUPID, to say the least, but may also  land him in trouble under the country’s Sedition Act.

Mat Sabu must have been too busy  with his ‘selling ubat’ POLITICAL CERAMAH that he had little or no time to read up history, or even consult his colleagues, before making such horrible statement. He must be unaware that the Malayan Communist Party(MCP), to whom the 200 CTs belonged, was then a branch of the Communist Party of People’s Republic of China. And he must be unaware that the the Chin Peng-led MCP started the armed insurgency in 1948, immediately after the British scrapped off the Malayan Union which was BITTERLY OPPOSED by the Malays, and proclaimed PERSEKUTUAN TANAH MELAYU, a transition Malay-led Government, on the road of full independence from the British.

Mat Sabu is Penang-based, and must be desperate to win over the hearts of the Chinese. He may have won the admiration of certain section of his Chinese voters, BUT  Mat Sabu may have overlooked the fact that his STUPID PROCLAMATION will diminish whatever support PAS may still have among the Malays/Muslims.

Pro-Communist statement by Mat Sabu has turned him into INSTANT LIABILITY for PAS, and will make UMNO/BN tasks to return to power in the coming GE much much easier. Najib can now look forward to not only returning to power with over two-third majority for the BN, but with LANDSLIDE VICTORY.

Nothing New About DAP-PKR Secret Pact

October 31, 2010

REVEALATIONS by YB Zulkifli Nordin in Parliment a few days ago,  about the SECRET PACT between DAP and PKR , including to grant AUTONOMY to Penang in the event of Pakatan winning the coming General Elections, have stunned the country, in particular the Malays.

However, by looking back into the pages of our recent history, there is actually NOTHING NEW about the ‘Chinese Agenda’ to wrest control of this LANDS OF THE MALAYS.

The  then IMMIGRANT CHINESE used to attempt to take over Tanah Melayu immediately after the Japanese surrender in 1945. At that time, their ‘political vehicle’ was the MALAYAN COMMUNIST PARTY(MCP), a branch of the COMMUNIST PARTY OF CHINA. Their plot was only foiled by the returning British. Otherwise, Tanah Melayu could have been turned into one of the provinces of CHINA.

When the Malays under the leadership of UMNO managed to force the British to rescind the MALAYAN UNION and replaced it with PERSEKUTUAN TANAH MELAYU in 1948, it was the then CHINESE IMMIGRANTS, under the MCP again who opposed the formation of the PERSEKUTUAN TANAH MELAYU(PTM), to the extend that they took up ARMED INSURRECTION against the PTM, which led to the declaration of EMERGENCY and the BANNING of the MCP.

The crushing defeat of MCP in the Malaysian jungle by 1960, and the lifting of the state of emergency, must have led to the ‘retreating and regrouping’ of the COMMUNIST ELEMENTS into legal political organisation, to continue with their ‘Chinese Agenda’.

When Singapore became part of MALAYSIA in 1963, the CHAUVANIST CHINESE ‘re-grouped’ themselves under the PAP SINGAPORE, under Lee Kwan Yew. The expulsion of Singapore in 1965 led to the formation of DAP as a new ‘political vehicle’ for the CHAUVANIST CHINESE.

Ever since its debut in 1969 General Election, DAP has been the BIGGEST THREAT to the peace and stability of this LANDS OF THE MALAYS. It was their VICTORY PARADES along main streets of KL immediately after the 1969 General Election, during which INSULTS AND PROVOCATIONS were thrown at Malays, which had sparked off the 13th May tragedy.

Its time that the Government seriously consider BANNING political parties who harbour objectives NOT IN LINE with the FOUNDATIONS of our country. DAP’s ‘Malaysian Malaysia’ is blatantly AGAINST our country’s Constitution, and should NO LONGER  be allowed to be propagated by a  ‘legal’ political party registered with the Registrar of  Societies. Unless and until DAP abandon such objectives, DAP will continue to FUEL racial disharmony, which may one day detonate the Lim Kit Siang-designed TIME BOMB.

DAP and Chinese Extremism

June 20, 2010

The past few days, our newspapers highligted our Government’s concern about the possible come back of ‘terrorism elements’ into our PEACEFUL multi-racial society, including among lecturers in our IPTAs. Recently, a number of foreign and local students were arrested under ISA for having links with ‘world’ terrorist organisations, like the Al-Qaida and the Jamaah Islamiyah.

Non-muslims and non-Malay bloggers were fast to link FANATICISM, EXTREMISM and TERRORISM with Islam and the Malays. UMNO and PERKASA were labelled as EXTREMISTS and RACISTS. However, before they are drowned into their prejudices, let us put things in their proper perspective.

FANATISM, EXTREMISM and TERRORISM have NO RACE. They can emerge from any race, depending on time and circumstances.  If we look back at events in Sri Lanka, Northern Ireland, Palestine, southern Philipines, southern Thailand, Spain and others, obviously, EXTREMISM and TERRORISM do not point to any particular race or religion.

PAS was once at the verge of becoming EXTREMISTS like the Taliban or Al-Qaida. PAS President, Hj Hadi, used to decree that those working with non-Muslim parties became INFIDELS, or UNBELIEVERS, and as such, they can be fought against, and even killed. And PAS used to decree, which they have not retracted,  that those who die fighting UMNO would die as SYAHID, or MARTYRS.

Another Muslim organisation, the Al-Arqam used to attract strong followings among Muslims. They believed that their founder, the late Ustaz Shaari would by certain MIRACLES, become the 5th PM of Malaysia, Malaysia would become fully Islamic State, and Ustaz Shaari was designated as the PEMUDA BANI TAMIM, whom they claimed to have been referred to in religious prophecies, would receive the ‘flag’ from Imam Mahdi, the SAVIOUR. Al-Arqam members were willing to die for their cause.

The essay on terrorism linked to Malays and Muslims in Malaysia will not be complete without mentioning the ‘bombings in Indonesia’ by the Malaysian-born Nordin Md top and his operatives in Indonesia.

However, The Chinese community in Malaysia should not forget that, they used to, and maybe still are, supporters of FANATICISM, EXTREMISM and TERRORISM too. Even lately, DAP is still behind the idea of bringing back the ‘elderly’ MALAYSIAN TOP TERRORIST, Comrade Chin Peng. Chin Peng was the leader of the Malayan Branch of the Communist Party of China. The ‘Bintang Tiga’ Malayan Communist Party(MCP) first tried to seize power in Tanah Melayu upon the surrender of the Japanese in 1945. And again, they decided to insurrect ARMED STRUGGLE against the formation of Persekutuan Tanah Melayu, the transition government on the road to full independence. Overwhelming majority of Chinese were supportive of MCP, hence their strongholds in areas like Ipoh, Batu Gajah, Slim River and other Chinese-majority areas.

Chin Peng’s MCP atrocities were well recorded in our history, During over 10 years of intense ‘guerilla warfare’, thousands of their own mainly Chinese fighters(better-known as CTs) were killed, maimed or injures. And they incurred thousands of deaths and injuries to the rakyat and armed services personnels through their indiscriminate bombings of public utilities, and ambushes. Compared to other Malaysian terrorists, Chin Peng STOOD OUT by leaps and bounds.

Co-incidently, most of the ‘black areas’ which were the strong-holds of MCP, are now the strongholds of DAP. Its fair to believe that former members and supporters of MCP are now KEY SUPPORTERS of DAP. The question is, how to erase the strong culture of FANATICISM, EXTREMISM and TERRORISM from the members and supporters of DAP.

Should Citizenship of Immigrants be Revoked?

May 23, 2010

Most of the IMMIGRANTS, whose decendents were accepted as CITIZENS of Persekutuan Tanah Melayu and Malaysia, arrived on our shores less than 100 years ago, the bulk of it after the Cultural Revolution in China in 1949.

At that time, Persekutuan Tanah Melayu was set up to replace the much-opposed Malayan Union. Only the Malays were OPPOSED to the Malayan Union, hence, it was ONLY the Malays and their kings who forced the British to set up the Persekutuan Tanah Melayu. The Chinese were then still IMMIGRANTS, most of whom were supportive of the ARMED INSURRECTION launched by the Chinese-centred Malayan Communist Party, a branch of China’s Communist Party.

Persekutuan Tanah Melayu was set up to be TRANSITIONAL GOVERNMENT, pending full independence. Prior to the granting of full independence, the British ‘persuaded, which the Malays had to obey’ that 1.2 million Chinese immigrants and 0.3 million Indian immigrants be granted citizenship. Full independence materialised in 1957, with Tunku Ab. rahman as the FIRST Prime Minister.

In retrospect, it was a BIG MISTAKE to have granted citizenship to the IMMIGRANTS who had arrived here just to ‘cari makan’ at the first place. No country in the world will remain peaceful for long with HUGE IMMIGRANTS population. Even Lee Kwan Yew were reported to have said that the minorities in Singapore should not exceed 15% of the island-state population.

Many believe that, given freedom of choice, the UMNO leaders would not have agreed to the granting of citizenship to the 1.5 IMMIGRANTS in one shot. As history were written, the Malay leaders were given the condition, were forced into a DEAL, ‘accept the IMMIGRANTS as citizens, and we will give you independence’. In short, Malay leaders were given NO CHOICE. The Malay leaders had to agree UNDER DURESS, under threat that the much cherished independence may be withheld much longer, unless they agree to the British terms.

Had Malay leaders not agreed to the British, more and more IMMIGRANTS would have been allowed in….. through Penang, Malacca and Singapore…. and the indigenous races could have been outnumbered by the IMMIGRANTS, like what happened in Singapore. Malay leaders HAD TO AGREE then in order to close the FLOODGATE of IMMIGRANTS.

Despite that, the Malays had demanded protection of their rights as the ORIGINAL OWNERS of Persekutuan Tanah Melayu. They demanded, and agreed by the British and non-Malays, that the IMMIGRANTS who were granted citizenship should recognised ‘Ketuanan Melayu’, by agreeing to certain provisions in the Constitution of Persekutuan Tanah Melayu, including the SPECIAL POSITION OF MALAYS.

Despite having to agree to the British ‘under duress’, the Malays still observed their part of the understandings which were known as the SOCIAL CONTRACT. Unfortunately, the Chinese are DEFAULTING on their part of the CONTRACT, and their ‘voices of dissent’ against the provisions which favoured the Malays/Bumiputra are becoming louder and louder, day by day.

Under such circumstances, its only fair that the citizenship of the IMMIGRANTS be revoked. Malay-centred political parties and NGOs should now unite, to garner whatever means at their disposal, to force the Chinese to remedy their DEFAULTS. Otherwise, its only fair to start LEGAL PROCESSES, and other recource, to revoke the citizenship of the IMMIGRANTS. Once the citizenship of the IMMIGRANTS are revoked, all citizenship of their DESCENDENTS would be deemed NULL AND VOID too.
